Design Review Practice Lead
Remote or Hybrid (Honolulu, Hawaii)Full-Time$150,000 – $200,000 / Annual
Overview
- MC3 Technologies is a Hawaii-born defense technology and integration company serving defense, federal, and commercial clients across the Pacific and beyond.
- We bring cybersecurity, physical security, systems integration, software, and facility delivery together under one roof, so the systems our customers depend on are designed, built, and accredited right the first time.
- Wherever we work, we grow local talent and invest in our people as much as in our technology.
- How we move: MC3 is an agile, fast-growing company with small teams that have real ownership, decisions made close to the work, and modern tools, including AI, built into how we deliver.
- If you want your work to matter quickly and to grow with a company that is still being built, this is the place.
- Engineering at MC3: our engineers design, review, and support delivery on fast-moving facility and infrastructure projects, working side by side with builders and our cyber and software teams so systems get built and accredited without rework.
The Opportunity
- The Practice Lead builds and runs MC3's design review practice for prototype and accelerated projects, where reviews have to keep pace with the design instead of holding it up
- Location: Remote or hybrid from Honolulu, with travel to project sites as needed
- Type: Full-time or part-time (W-2)
- Reports to: Principal and CTO
- Clearance: Clearable to Secret or higher
Responsibilities
- Stand up the review process: intake, discipline assignment, comment standards, QC check, and closeout for 35, 65, 95, and 100 percent design submittals and construction submittals
- Recruit, onboard, and schedule discipline engineers, both staff and on-call
- Manage reviews in the client's review system; track comment resolution through backcheck
- Hold the line on comment quality: every comment cites the governing standard or code clause, states the issue, and gives a fix
- Run interdisciplinary coordination checks (biddability, constructability, operability, environmental, and sustainability)
- Scope and price review task orders with the Principal; serve as the client's single point of contact
- Turn lessons learned into review checklists for each discipline
- Run rolling and over-the-shoulder reviews that fit agile and design-build schedules, with a 48 to 72 hour turnaround standard
- Build AI-assisted review workflows (criteria lookup, spec-to-submittal comparison, comment drafting) and set the rules for verifying their output
